Hospitals reach out to JWA when they are seeking a Lean Transformation and want to improve on different aspects of their patient and staff experience. As an introduction to Lean methodology, JWA teaches different classes onsite to explain Lean principles to our adult learners. But, once the engagement has started there is a need for spread within the organizations.

Most of the people employed in the hospital have never been exposed to Lean methodology prior to this. When JWA begins an engagement at a hospital, they will need to teach an on-site introductory course to the executive team. This will expose the executives to the Lean methodology they will be expected to employ throughout their organization. This is where the Computer Based Training (CBT) is essential to JWA’s success. The CBT allows for more people to move through JWA’s Lean certification process.

This Waste module is one section of a larger Lean Fundamentals course set. This is for learners who were not involved with the Instructor Lead Trainings, but still need to be exposed to Lean principles. The CBT is made up of Reusable Learning Objects (RLOs) which can be used over and over again. The RLO allows more people to participate in the training without incurring the cost of having a consultant on-site.
